Biden delays decision on Trump tariffs on China

U.S. President Joe Biden has delayed a final decision to roll back any Trump-era tariffs on Chinese imports. "The USTR announced on Friday a tariff review that will allow businesses the opportunity to seek relief by weighing whether they believe any particular tariff is hurting U.S. jobs or competitiveness," one of the administration officials said. Meanwhile, Taiwanese leader Tsai Ing-wen said during a visit to U.S. lawmakers that "Taiwan will cooperate with the U.S. to strengthen economic and commercial ties." Responding to Tsai Ing-wen, U.S. Representative Stephanie Murphy pointed out that "one of the most basic things Congress can do is improve economic relations with Taiwan, including through a high-quality free trade agreement between the United States and Taiwan."
