IMF sees uncertain outlook for global economy


In the latest World Economic Outlook Report, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) lowered its forecast for global economic growth in 2022 to 3.2%, down 0.4 percentage points from its previous forecast. The economic forecast for 2023 was further lowered to 2.9%, a decrease of 0.7 percentage points from the previous time. In addition, the IMF also sharply lowered its forecast for U.S. economic growth this year to 2.3%, down 1.4 percentage points from its previous forecast. The European economic growth forecast was lowered to 2.6%, down 0.2 percentage points from the previous forecast. The IMF said that the negative impact of the Russia-Ukraine incident has been further reflected, and the price of energy and food has been continuously pushed up, making the global economic outlook full of uncertainty.
